What a read!  First of all, I thought that the book was really, really sad and I was really surprised how the book started out.  I didn&#8217;t expect what happened at the beginning of the story to happen.  The other major reaction I had to the book was how well constructed the story was.  Caroline B. Cooney is a master of suspense.  I really enjoyed her use of foreshadowing in the book. </p>
